Although I only had Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II for two weeks. I was some what skeptical about the lens at first; being so cheap in addition to the materials being used to make this lens. However, when I used this lens to shoot at the “House on the Rock,” images were sharp and bright. Bokeh was not at all distracting like some reviews, and the Pin (focus) was right on the dot. I used this lens with Canon Eos 5dm2 and will keep this on my camera for a very long time.

First I have to say I am not a professional by any means. I have been debating on Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 APO EX DG HSM for a while now. At first I was going to go with the Nikkor version but I just could not justify the extra money. I understand that this lens may not be as good as the Nikkor but for the price I say its close. I used the lens at a gymnastics meet for its first test run. And if anyone knows the lighting in a gym it is horrible and this place was no exception. Well I have to say once I got my settings in order the lens did a great job.The focus was great and fast,I did not mind that there was no focus limit like the Nikkor. And the OS system worked great! As far as the build on it I like the way the it feels in my hand. The zoom and focus ring where comfortable, I know there is some question where the zoom ring is located but I had no problem. Is it heavy? Yes. But there is a lot of glass in there,it better be heavy. The only thing that I say they could have done a little better was the design of the switches for the auto focus and OS on/off. They kinda look a little cheap. I am really happy with it and are looking forward to using it a lot.

Nikkor Telephoto zoom lens 55 – 200 mm f/4.0-5.6 delivers everything it promises. The VR technology makes a huge difference and I’m sure it has convinced me to stick with lenses that have it. Nikkor Telephoto zoom lens 55 – 200 mm f/4.0-5.6 is also surprisingly small for a telephoto which is nice if you are using it to travel or for general purpose photography. Keep in mind that with a telephoto with this focal length, you have to be a few feet away to get good focus on anything.

The VR is well worth the money.

This is a very sharp lens with a very good VR, quick focus and range. For what it is, a very sharp DX lens for a good price it does a great job. I think with this lens and the 70-300 VR any Nikon DX shooter has almost everything that they need. Maybe a 50mm wide aperature f/1.8 or 1.4 and a 10-24 or 11-16mm even better added later on. This lens has a nice range at 16mm for those wide shots when you need them. Of course theres purple fringing once in a while and some distortion but all these minor faults can be corrected in PS CS5 so in reality it’s a great lens. And with the VR you have the ability to shoot in low light situations especially with Nikons sensitive sensors. Very nice.

It allows me to get nice close-up photos of my kids playing in the backyard without interrupting their play. I’ve also used it for taking portraits for my church’s directory- so far everyone has been pleased.

I have had trouble with focusing when using this lens indoors (example is my daughter’s summer camp concert), but overall I am very pleased.

I did appreciate all the little “extras” this particular vendor provided- especially the lens case.

Great lens for the money. I do wildlife photography and this is a great buy. I was hoping it would come prior to my trip. It came, great service from the dealer. I took the lens on the trip, used it extensively and love the pictures taken with it. Yes, Sigma 120-400mm f/4.5-5.6 AF APO DG HSM is a heavy lens, but I handheld it for the shots I took as had no room for tripod. Shots are sharp. As were taken mainly in the bright sun, had no issues with shake.

If you’re looking for a large zoom lens to add to your arsenal then I highly recommend this lens. I can see it being a fantastic asset for wildlife photography and I have already enjoyed its huge range capturing sports action such as surfing and volleyball.

I also have sigma’s 18-50mm f2.8 lens which I’ve used for over a year. The construction on both is very solid and the images they produce are brilliant. Plus they retail around half the price of a Nikon or Canon equivalent. You can’t argue with the value they provide.

If you’re wondering if you should buy this lens, go for it. You won’t be disappointed.
